From Pastor's Desk

Greetings to all in the marvelous name of our lord Jesus Christ.

When Jesus reached the coast of Caesarea of Philippi, He asked the disciples who the people said the Son of Man was. They replied that some said He was john the Baptist, while others said that He was Elijah or Jeremiah and many others as one of the prophets. Then Jesus turned and asked His disciples who they thought He was, to which Peter replied, you're Christ, Son of the living God. God revealed this truth to Peter who followed him sincerely and accordingly gave him the promise which is stated in Matthew 16:18 – “And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it”. This was God’s predestination about the church. ‘Church’ was a mystery in the heart of God since the beginning of ages. (Ps. 74:2, Eph. 3:9, 5:32, Col. 1:26).

The word “Church” is translated to ‘Ecclesia’ in Greek which means ‘called out’. In the Septuagint version, the term ‘Assembly’ is used 70 times and the word ‘Kahal’ is used 123 times to indicate the gathering of the Israelites.

The Church is separated from the world, sin and Satan. Since we are separated we must not be slaves to worldly desires (1 Jn. 2:15-17). Since we have been washed from our sins by the blood of Jesus, we must not live in our sins anymore (1 Jn. 2:1, Rom. 6:1, 2). Since we have been crucified with Christ, buried with Him in Baptism and have been raised up with Him into a new life, sin must not reign in us anymore (Rom. 6:12, 13). We must surrender our bodies to God as slaves to righteousness leading to sanctification (Rom. 6:19). He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the Kingdom of His beloved Son (Col. 1:13).

The Church should be living as it is the Body of Christ. We must be baptized in the Holy Spirit and worship God in the fullness of the Spirit. As it says in Ephesians 5:18 – “Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit”.

In today’s world, many churches are going with the flow of this world, having lost their spirituality, morality and discipline, having only appearances of godliness and worship sessions becoming just a show for fame and name. In such an age, let Kuwait Church of God be able to stand for the doctrinal truth and separation as a light in the midst of this darkness.

As the Church is a building, let us be built up in unity and love in the spirit (Eph. 2:17-22). As being a vineyard, let us abide in Christ as the true vine and bear fruits for God (Jn. 15:15). As being a bride, let us as a pure virgin wait patiently for the bridegroom of our souls (2 Cor. 11:1, 2). As being lambs of the flock, let us follow and obey the voice of the Good Shepherd (Jn. 10: 1-6).

God has given certain duties to this called out and separated group.
Daily duties of the Church:

  • To worship the Lord in Spirit and in truth – Jn 4:23
  • To pray – Mt 6:11, Lk 11:3
  • To carry our cross daily – Lk 9:23
  • To continue in one accord – Acts 2:46
  • To teach the doctrines – Mt 26:55, Lk 15:47
  • To win souls – Acts 2:47, 16:5
  • To preach Jesus – Acts 5:42
  • To search the Scripture – Acts 17:11
  • To discuss the Scripture – Acts 19:9
  • To carry responsibilities – II Cor 11:28
  • To exhort one another – Heb 3:13

Let us as a church move forward, accepting these duties. Let us work with a burden in our hearts and, if the coming of the Lord is delayed, let us bring many souls into His presence. The time is near for Christ to come in the mid-air and take His bride for the wedding.

So, KUWAIT CHURCH OF GOD, let us keep our holiness and labour; be prepared and wait for the Lord!

Declaration of Faith

The Church of God believes the whole Bible to be completely and equally inspired and that it is the written Word of God. The Church of God has adopted the following Declaration of Faith as its standard and official expression of its doctrine.

We Believe
  1. In the verbal inspiration of the Bible.
  2. In one God eternally existing in three persons; namely, the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
  3. That Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Ghost, and born of the Virgin Mary. That Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead. That He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as the Intercessor.
  4. That all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and that repentance is commanded of God for all and necessary for forgiveness of sins.
  5. That justification, regeneration, and the new birth are wrought by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.
  6. In sanctification subsequent to the new birth, through faith in the blood of Christ; through the Word, and by the Holy Ghost.
  7. Holiness to be God's standard of living for His people.
  8. In the baptism with the Holy Ghost subsequent to a clean heart.
  9. In speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance and that it is the initial evidence of the baptism of the Holy Ghost.
  10. In water baptism by immersion, and all who repent should be baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
  11. Divine healing is provided for all in the atonement.
  12. In the Lord's Supper and washing of the saints' feet.
  13. In the premillennial second coming of Jesus. First, to resurrect the righteous dead and to catch away the living saints to Him in the air. Second, to reign on the earth a thousand years.
  14. In the bodily resurrection; eternal life for the righteous, and eternal punishment for the wicked.
